CAIRO, July 14 (MENA) – The International Labor Organization (ILO) office in Cairo and the Federation of Egyptian industries (FEI) on Monday will hold a multi-party consultation meeting to support women entrepreneurs in the country.

In a statement released on Sunday, the ILO office said the meeting is expected to witness the submission of a position paper by the FEI on the development of women entrepreneurship.

This paper focuses on the six conditions set in an evaluation carried out in 2016 about the development of women entrepreneurship in Egypt.

These conditions include establishing a legislative system that takes into account gender equality considerations and promotes the economic empowerment of women, as well as enhancing coordination for backing women entrepreneurs and facilitating their access to financial services, markets and technology.

In a related context, Director of ILO Cairo Office Eric Ochlan said the event is due to discuss policies, legislation and strategies related to gender equality, besides determining the link between gender and access to financial services, commercial markets, technology and business development support services.
