Burkina’s president visits Egyptian armored vehicles factory

CAIRO - 9 June 2017: The President of the Republic of Burkina Faso, Rock Marc Kabore, visited on Thursday an armored vehicles factory that belongs to Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production.

Kabore, who is currently in a visit to Egypt, was accompanied by Hassan Abdel Maged, Vice President of the National Organization for Military Production, and the Minister of Migration Nabila Makram during his tour at the plant.

Abdel Maged welcomed the president and his accompanied delegation, stressing on the close relations between the two countries, and the keenness to communicate and coordinate with other countries in the African continent, to strengthen cooperation in all fields.

The main objective of the establishment of this factory is to fulfill the needs of the Egyptian army from armored vehicles, and M1A1 tanks, Abdel Maged noted during the visit.

The vice president took the Burkina’s officials into an inspection tour in different departments inside the factory.

Abdel Maged reviewed identifications over the technological implemented in factory to manufacture various products, which included giant trailers, transport trailers, giant refrigerators, fuel tanks, and fire trucks, as well as reviewing other technologies related to manufacture of Rocket launcher and M1A1 tanks.

The Burkina president and his delegation also visited the permanent exhibition, where all products of military production companies are present.

At the end of the visit Kabore praised the technological and manufacturing capabilities of the factory, and expressed his aspiration to cooperation between the two countries to benefit from these experiences.

The armor factory that is known as 200 Harbi is dedicated for the production and repair of Armored Vehicles of Egyptian Military.

Kabore, arrived to in three-day visit to Egypt on Wednesday and met with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, and a number of officials and public figures, including Egyptian Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal, for bilateral talks.
