CAIRO -16 May 2019: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi asserted the great status of the UAE for the Egyptian people, noting that Cairo-Abu Dhabi relations represent a model of strategic cooperation among Arabs.

Sisi’s remarks were made during his meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who arrived in Cairo earlier on Wednesday.

The president lauded the close historical ties binding the two countries, affirming his keenness to continue upgrading cooperation with the UAE in all fields, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in press statements.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi crown prince said the UAE is keen to continue developing mechanisms of bilateral cooperation with Egypt in different fields in a way that helps achieve mutual interests of the two countries' peoples.

The spokesman noted that the two sides discussed the latest regional developments, particularly with regard to the sabotage attack that targeted four ships near the UAE coasts, in addition to the drone attack that hit two oil pumping stations in Saudi Arabia.

In this regard, President Sisi expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with the UAE and Saudi Arabia to combat all attempts seeking to undermine the two countries’ security and stability.

Sisi also stressed Cairo’s firm stance about the security of the Arab Gulf region, which he said is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan left Cairo later on the same day.
