CAIRO, May 15 (MENA) - The cabinet's media center denied on Wednesday reports about a health ministry's plan to replace Egyptian nurses with foreign ones as part of a new comprehensive health insurance system.

In a press release, the center said it has contacted the Ministry of Health and Population, which categorically refuted these reports, saying the ministry does not intend to lay off Egyptian nurses under the new health insurance system.

The ministry's recruitment of foreign nurses aims at increasing the efficiency of Egyptian nursing teams and providing them with world-class training, the center added.

The ministry urged citizens not to be misled by these harmful rumors that seek to stir public discontent.
