CAIRO - 13 May 2019: Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Rania al-Mashat, announced in a press conference held Sunday that the ministry is producing a documentary about the secrets of the Egyptian ancient civilization in cooperation with the Italian based media company, Mediaset.

Al Mashat said that the well-acclaimed Italian program "Confine II Oltre Freedom" and its presenter Giacobbo Roberto would broadcast the documentary that discusses the wonders of the ancient Egyptian civilization.

Al Mashat said that the cooperation with the Italian media company is part of the Ministry's plan to promote tourism in Egypt, adding that the Ministry has started a partnership with CNN in order to draw more tourists to Egypt.

The Italian Mediaset broadcast for 4 months a documentary about the Egyptian civilization that scored high views, encouraging the company to produce another season about the ancient civilization in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.
Five millions watched the first season of the documentary according to Mediaset, hoping that a second season would realize a bigger success.

Several representatives of the Italian media arena including Mediaset attended the press conference organized by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism to broaden its ties with the international tourism market.

The first season of the documentary covered the latest discoveries of ancient tombs and monuments in Egypt that drew views estimated at millions.
