CAIRO – 8 June 2017: Saudi news website, Ajel, leaked top classified documents of Qatari intelligence on Egypt and Qatar’s attempt to sabotage its economy, on Wednesday.

The leaked documents date back to 2012, after outlawed Muslim Brotherhood (MB) President Mohamed Morsi, who was completely affiliated with the Qatari regime, had taken office.

The plan was to overburden the Egyptian economy with interests in favor of Qatar, by taking loans from the gas-rich country and invest them in Cairo Airport in favor of Qatar Airways.

The documents revealed that al-Diyar Qatari corporate was granted the right to extend the deadline of completing its projects in Egypt within 12 years, instead of 8. It also included dominating the steel industry, by establishing “Qatar Steel.” In the tourism sector the plan involved establishing a resort funded by Qatar.

Morsi and Hamad Al-Thani, then Qatar’s Emir, agreed to abort the call of late Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz for a dialogue between Islamic doctrines in 2012.

The sealed documents were signed by former Muslim Brotherhood Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, and his Qatari counterpart Hamad bin Jassem bin Jaber.

Egypt, along with Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Libya’s eastern-based government, Jordan and the Maldives severed diplomatic ties with Doha on Monday, over accusations to Qatar of backing terrorist groups.
