Attempt to smuggle used computer monitors with fake manufacturing date foiled

CAIRO, May 7 (MENA) - The central customs administration of Port Said foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,213 used computer monitors with fake manufacturing date, a well-placed source at the Customs Authority said on Tuesday.

The customs authority received a tip off that a company plans to import computer monitors not committed to the manufacturing year conditions, the source added.

The company was slapped a 1.6-million-pound fine and will be facing legal action for flouting regulations.
