CAIRO - 7 April 2019: Statue of Late Egyptian President Gamaal Abdel Nassr was unveiled in the presence of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and his Guinean President Alpha Condé in Guniea's capital Conakry on Sunday.

Both leaders also inaugurated a new university named after President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, the first Egyptian president pays Guinea an official visit since 1965.

Sisi started an overseas tour with the first leg in Guinea, and the next stops will be in the United States, Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal.

Presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said the tour to the western African region comes as part of Egypt's keenness on intensifying contacts with African brothers in all domains, especially trade and economic ones.

Sisi is to hold talks with leaders of the three African countries on boosting bilateral relations and pushing forward development process in the African continent.

Sisi's visit to Washington comes at the invitation of US President Donald Trump as part of efforts to enhance partnership between the two countries and maintain consultations on a number of regional issues.
