Egypt's top prosecutor orders probe into Nozah shooting attack

CAIRO, April 7 (MENA) - Prosecutor General Nabil Ahmed Sadeq ordered on Sunday opening an investigation into the killing of one police officer and the injury of two soldiers in a shooting attack in Nozah district.

Sadek assigned public prosecutors to head for the scene of the attack and launch necessary investigations, a statement by the prosecutor general's office said.

A detailed statement on the circumstances of the attack will be issued by the prosecutor general's office later.

The driver of the police vehicle was also killed in the shooting.

While patrolling the area, captain Maged Ahmed Abdel Razeq noticed a black car with a hand-written number plate and four men inside.

Approaching the car, the driver stepped out and opened machine gun fire at the policemen.
