Egypt's minister of Foreign affairs Sameh Shoukry and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov
CAIRO - 5 April 2019: Egypt's minister of Foreign affairs Sameh Shoukry and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov are expected to hold a joint press conference, Saturday, April 6 in Cairo.
Earlier on Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov embarked on a three-day trip to Egypt and Jordan according to an official statement.
During his visit to Cairo, Lavrov is expected to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, to discuss the bilateral relations, regional and international of mutual concern. Along with the preparations for the Russia-Africa summit due in October.
Lavrov also will hold discussions with Secertary Genetal of Arab Legaue Ahmed Abul Gheit, the statement continued.
“As Egypt is presiding over the African Union in 2019, there are plans to discuss practical ways to coordinate preparations for the Russia-Africa summit scheduled to take place in Sochi in October,” Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova was quoted as sayings by TASS on Friday.
