Health Ministry urges women to benefit from breast cancer examination campaign

CAIRO – 2 April 2019: The National Program for Women's Health at the Ministry of Health urged women in various governorates to head to mobile clinics for examination and early detection of breast cancer as well as referral to treatment at various oncology centers if needed.

According to a statement issued by the National Program for Women's Health at the Ministry of Health Tuesday, 12 mobile clinics are available for early detection of breast cancer. Each one has a highly qualified medical team to examine and register patients, and provide full awareness to women.

The statement added that all procedures of examination and medical tests are free of charge.

On her side, Health and Population Minister Hala Zayed stressed that women should stay away from smoking and alcohol while taking care of breastfeeding for as long as possible, maintaining healthy weight, and increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables.

She also stressed the importance of inhibiting obesity by avoiding fat with regular doctor review and early detection of tumors.
