CAIRO – 28 March 2019: The Arab Organization for Industrialization has designed and implemented more than 100 solar power plants with different capacities throughout Egypt since 2013, Vice President of the Arab Organization for Industrialization Tawheed Tawfik told Egypt Today Wednesday.

Tawfik added that the authority is interested in infrastructure projects which include drinking water purification plants, Seawater desalination plants and wastewater treatment plants.

Tawfik pointed out that a number of projects will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to set up solar power plants abroad to support the Nile Basin countries.

In March 2019, the Military Production Ministry's Qaha Chemical Industries (Factory 270) and the Swiss company, AquaSwiss, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish seawater desalination plants.

This comes as part of the ministry's efforts to cooperate with global companies to apply the latest technology in the treatment of drainage and industrial water in implementation of Egypt's 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy.

For his side, Executive Director of AquaSwiss Company Sanjeev Varma affirmed cooperation between the company and the Military Production Ministry in setting up seawater desalination plants will be crowned with success given the company's technological and industrial potentials and well-trained workforce.
