CAIRO – 27 March 2019: Yemeni media outlets have affirmed the killing of a number of Iranian officers and experts in addition to dozens of Houthis in an airstrike by the Arab coalition over the provinces of Sana and Saada in Yemen.
Among those killed were the first adviser and supervisor of the installation of Iranian-made missiles, Mohammad Niazi, along with a Houthi colonel and a missile expert.
The sources said that among the dead was the supervisor of the military monitoring and communications network.
The death toll comes a day after an Iranian officer was killed in the province of Saada, the stronghold of the Iran-supported rebel group.
The Saudi-led military alliance launched raids on Houthi positions in the Yemeni capital Sana, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.
Coalition forces spokesman Col. Turki al-Maliki said the raids targeted two caves used by Houthis to store aircrafts.
Maliki said the raids were part of a process that began in January to destroy "an integrated network of experts, capabilities and logistical facilities for Houthi drones.
