CAIRO – 5 June 2017: The U.S. Embassy in Doha issued a statement Monday addressing nationals in Qatar in order to “remind all U.S. citizens residing in or visiting Qatar to check directly with your travel providers for any potential impact on your personal travel arrangements and remain alert to additional developments,” according to the embassy’s official website.

It added: “The embassy is monitoring the situation closely and is working with the Government of Qatar to ensure the safety of U.S. citizens in the country.”

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain announced cutting their diplomatic ties with Qatar over "its continuous support for terrorism," closing their airspace and seaports for the Qatari transportation on Monday. The four Arab countries withdrew their diplomatic missions from Qatar.
