EgyptAir operates last 2 flights to Doha Monday: Sources

CAIRO – 5 June 2017: EgyptAir will operate the last two flights heading to Doha, Qatar, while a travel ban to the oil-rich state announced earlier Monday to be effective as of Tuesday, well-informed sources said.

According to the sources, the first flight is scheduled to depart shortly, while the second one will fly tonight.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain

announced

cutting their diplomatic ties with Qatar over "its continuous support for terrorism," closing their airspace and seaports for the Qatari transportation on Monday. The four Arab countries withdrew their diplomatic missions from Qatar.

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation banned all Qatari flights from landing at its airports, Al- Arabiya reported.

The UAE's flydubai said Monday it would suspend flights to and from Doha from Tuesday after the United Arab Emirates severed ties with Qatar, Reuters reported.
