CAIRO – 4 June 2017: Egypt condemned the terror attack in Kolofata, northern Cameroon, that targeted a camp housing citizens displaced from Nigeria by Boko Haram militants. The attack killed 11 and injured 30.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid sent his deep condolences to the victims’ families, assuring that Egypt supports Cameroon in confronting terrorism.

The spokesperson renewed his invitation to the international community to unify their efforts in fighting destabilizing attacks by terrorists.

On Friday, two children carrying explosives posed as refugees looking for food before the start of daytime fast for Ramadan, Reuters reported. They blew themselves up near the refugee camp in the town of Kolofata, around 10 km from the Nigerian border.

The death toll reached 11, including the two suicide bombers, Communications Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary told state radio.
