CAIRO – 4 June 2017: The Ministry of Social Solidarity will celebrate World Day Against Child Labor on Sunday by participating in organizing an iftar for orphans in cooperation with the International Labor Organization.

The event aims to spotlight the efforts exerted to prevent child labor in Egypt and to encourage partners and unify their efforts in order to guarantee a better life for every child.

The event will include a performance by “Chorus Misr,” founded by maestro Selim Sahab, which will perform national and religious songs. The chorus itself presents an experiment aimed to fight child labor, through developing their artistic skills in an early age.

In 2002 the World Labor Organization launched the World Day Against Child Labor, which falls each year on June 12, to focus attention on the global extent of child labor and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it.
