CAIRO - 18 February 2019: The second of 2019’s three supermoons will rise on Tuesday in all Egyptian governorates and the Arab World to appear larger by 14 percent and brighter by 30 percent compared to the smallest full moon to come out in September.

Tuesday’s supermoon will be the largest and brightest until 2026. The phenomenon will appear in Africa, Australia, Europe, and Asia.

As announced by Jeddah Astronomy Society, the supermoon will be visible until the dawn of Wednesday, February 20.

Expert at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics Mohamed Gharib told Egypt Today earlier that the supermoon phenomenon happens when the moon is at its orbit’s closest point to the earth.
