Dutch police shoot man near central bank; witnesses report gunfight

AMSTERDAM – 6 February 2019: Dutch police shot a man on a street next to the country's central bank in Amsterdam on Wednesday, they said.

Local television station AT5 published photos of ambulances at the scene and cited eyewitnesses as saying around 20 shots were fired during an exchange of gunfire that left the man motionless on the ground.

The area has been cordoned off, police said.
