CAIRO, Feb 6 (MENA) - Agriculture Minister Ezzel Din Abu Steit held a number of meetings in Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania, for talks on promoting agricultural cooperation.

Talks covered transferring agricultural technology adopted by Egypt to Zanzibar and honing skills of agricultural workers in Zanzibar.

Among the senior officials Abu Steit met with were Zanzibar's agriculture minister and his deputies.

A letter of intent was signed between Egypt's Agricultural Researches Center and a university in Zanzibar, according to a statement by the Agriculture Ministry.

The Egyptian minister also accepted an invitation by the former Tanzanian president, Hassan Mwinyi, to visit his ranch for talks on developing cooperation in the agricultural domain.
