CAIRO: 1 February 2019: Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Vera Songwe has praised the current coordination between the UN commission and Egypt's Ministry of Planning in the field of the development plans, topped by the sustainable development plan 2030 and Africa's Agenda 2063.

The ECA official made the remarks on Friday at a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli in the presence of Planning Minister Hala el Saaed.

Songwe pointed out that the ECA works to help African countries to engage Agenda 2063 among their national development plans, hailing procedures that have been adopted by Egypt in this file.

She also expressed her keenness on cooperating with Egypt during its presidency of the African Union (AU), lauding the successful and unprecedented initiatives that were launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to promote the healthcare sector in Egypt.

For his part, Madbouli welcomed the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and the ECA, voicing his keenness to upgrade this cooperation during Egypt's presidency of the AU.
