Academy of Scientific Research, France's Valeo sign cooperation agreement

CAIRO, Jan 30 (MENA) - Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghafar has witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and French Group "Valeo" in the fields of research, development innovation of electric car industry.

The signing ceremony was made on the fringe of the Egyptian-French Economic Investment Forum which convened Tuesday.

Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and the ministers of electricity, social solidarity, transport, finance and information technology and communications as well as Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish attended the signing ceremony.

The French State Secretary at the Ministry Economy and Finance, members of the Egyptian-French Business Council as well as 300 figures representing French companies attended the event.

In a statement released by ASTR, Abdel Ghafar said the agreement reflects the ministry's strategy to link between scientific research and industry plans, adding that ASTR is working on programs to clinch technological alliances with foreign bodies.

Meanwhile, Head of ASTR Mahmoud Saqr said the agreement reflects the resolve of world industry represented by Valeo in cooperating with the Egyptian side in the field of scientific research. The agreement would help in upgrading capabilities and building new research teams as well as technological alliances in the field of electric car industry, innovation and applied systems.
