Camelia Sadat passed away at 74

CAIRO – 4 January 2019: Camelia Sadat, the former President Anwar Sadat’s daughter, passed away Wednesday at the age of 74.

Sakena Sadat, sister of the former president Anwar Sadat stated, “We were completely shocked, we called her hours before her death; she was fine and everything was alright.”

Sadat continued, “We did not decide the time of consolation yet; we are waiting for the arrival of her sole daughter Akbal from America,” adding, “Sakena was about to travel to Germany for a surgery. We were planning to meet before her travel. She was so kind and merciful; I will miss her.”

In similar vein, Effat Sadat, Sadat cousin, stated, “We found out her death when her sister Rawya Sadat called her but she did not answer. Therefore, she went to her home.”

Consolidation sets to be in Al-Rahman Al-Rahim Mosque but it is not decided yet whether it will be on Saturday or Sunday, as per the arrival of her sole daughter Eqbal.

Needless to say, Camelia Sadat is Anwar Sadat’s daughter from his first wife Eqbal Madi. Sadat passed away at the age of 74 after a struggle
