CAIRO – 31 May 2017: Cairo’s children’s cancer hospital, 57357 Hospital, won the Isa Award for Service to Humanity for 2017, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa announced Wednesday.

Khalifa, Bahrain’s deputy premier and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa Award, said the hospital was selected to win from many humanitarian projects that were presented from across the world.

The award will be presented on June 3 at the Isa Cultural Center in Juffair. The presentation will be attended by local, Arab and international personalities.

Established in 2009 by Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Isa Award is granted every two years. 2017 is the third year the award has been given.

57357 Hospital opened in 2007 and is one of the largest hospitals specializing in children’s cancer in the world. The hospital’s name, 57357, comes from the number of the bank account which accepted public donations to the hospital.
