CAIRO - 29 December 2018: A very cold weather is expected on Sunday on the northern parts of the country, extending to northern Upper Egypt.

The official forecast authority warned of a decline in temperature and rainfall during the coming 72 hours. There was a decline in temperature degrees by 4°C before Saturday. Cairo will record highs of 17°C and lows of 12°C on Sunday.

On Monday, the weather will remain low in Cairo, recording highs of 18°C and lows of 11°C.

The Mediterranean city of Alexandria has seen heavy rains amid an unstable wave that hit the country, and expected to remain in place for three days, according to meteorological experts.

Alexandria will see highs of 18°C and lows of 12°C on Sunday, while its neighbor Matrouh will see a colder weather, recording 15°C during the morning hours, and 11°C at night.

In Upper Egypt, although the weather is typically warmer, Aswan will record 19°C and at night, the temperature will drop to 9°C.
