During the sessions, Vodafone’s internal employees and industry role models took on the talks to inspire youth; Vodafone Consumer Marketing and Digital Director, Karim Eid, and Head of Strategy and Innovation Alaa Zaher, who spoke about crucial career development topics including; “Personal Branding” and “Taking action and Role modeling” respectively.

During his talk, Karim Eid focused on personal branding and the importance of establishing and consistently reinforcing career goals in the technological field. Eid provided the audience with professional tips on how they could reshape their professional engagement in the industry using personal projects, or initiatives that strengthen their desired identities, adding that that internal networking and relationship-building to youth is critical to building their own personal brand.

Eid added, “Quit hitting the same old brick walls. If the career path you are on is gnarled and impossible, don’t be afraid consider a detour. Create your own new path.”

Following Eid’s speech, Alaa Zaher took Vodafone Talks’ stage to start his discussion about “Taking action becoming a role model” where he discussed how studies have shown that professionals progress through teaching others in unique disciplines. He further explained, “We often don’t recognize true role models until we have noticed our own personal growth and progress in teaching others.”

Zaher urged youth to take actions and to view others’ success stories as fuel to motivate them. “Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will, it can cause people to miss out on opportunities that allow them to reach their full potential,” Zaher added.

With this initiative, Vodafone Egypt aims to seize the chance to lead change and make the most of everyone’s skills and talents, by educating and engaging with youth, as well as helping them build their own career paths.
