CAIRO, 24 Dec 2018: Minister of Health and Population Dr Hala Zayed announced that 8.728.328 citizens have participated in the second phase of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's initiative to combat Hepatitis C and detect chronic diseases, titled "100 Million Seha."

In statements here on Monday, the minister said so far 21.510.820 citizens have been examined in the campaign since its launch on October 1. The state targets reaching all potential Hepatitis C patients and treating them totally free of charge.

Health Ministry Spokesman Dr Khaled Megahed said 464,627 secondary school students have been tested since the beginning of the campaign and until Monday noon in all nine governorates included in the first phase.

Cairo governorate has been the most active in the campaign with 3.227 million citizens, followed by Menoufia with 1.093 million, he added.

The presidency initiative's operation room receives queries by citizens about the treatment centers on hotline 15335 and the website www.stophcv.eg, he added.
