CAIRO, Dec 23 (MENA) – Egypt offered its sincere condolences to Indonesia over the victims Tsunami waves that hit the Asian state.

In its statement, the Foreign Ministry said Cairo would stand by Indonesia and its people in this ordeal.

More than 220 people have been killed and 843 injured after a tsunami hit coastal towns on Indonesia's Sunda Strait.

The Sunda Strait, between the islands of Java and Sumatra, connects the Java Sea to the Indian Ocean.
