CAIRO - 16 December 2018: With a need to ensure that the Pyramid area is inclusive and has cafes, restaurants and many services to allow visitors to enjoy their visit comfortably and happily, the Supreme Council of Antiquities signed a contract with Orascom Investment Holding to provide Giza Pyramids' visitors with services, with the council having the sole right to manage the area.

The Ministry of Antiquities announced that this contract comes within the framework of the government's willingness to improve the quality of services provided to Egyptian, Arab and foreign visitors of the Giza Pyramids area, which is considered one of the most important touristic destinations in the world.

Head of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziry said that Orascom Investment Holding will also provide marketing and promotional services to the touristic spot.

According to Waziry, Orascom will operate the transportation services outside the Pyramids area, in front of the new entrance located on the Fayoum road, as cars and buses will not be allowed to enter the archaeological area.

According to the contract, Orascom will provide, operate and maintain means of transportation for visitors.

Waziry added that Orascom Investment Holding will establish a new center at the new entrance. The center will include a range of shops, cafeterias and a cinema.

The chosen movies to screen in the cinema will be under the supervision of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

According to the contract, Orascom Investment Holding will also establish 20 mobile toilets and a mobile medical center for visitors.

Additionally, Orascom Investment Holding will launch a number of entertainment activities in front of the new Fayoum entrance.

Waziry added that Orascom will organize and promote events in the area, in coordination with the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and will provide high-tech services for visitors such as Wi-Fi, a digital guide for visitors and telephone applications.

The massive Investment company will establish as well photography and painting booths to entertain the visitors.
