CAIRO - 29 November 2018: British Ambassador to Egypt Geoffrey Adams predicted at a conference in London on Nov. 28 that the number of British tourists visiting Egypt will reach 450,000 by the end of 2018, compared to 350,000 in 2017.

Adams considered it as an important development in the Egyptian tourism sector and the numbers of tourists visiting the country.

In an interview with Egypt Today, the Egyptian ambassador to the UK confirmed that negotiations with the UK concerning the resumption of direct flights between Britain and Sharm El-Sheikh are going well. "We expect promising results soon," he stated.

This came on the sidelines of a breakfast party prepared by the Door knock Mission to the United Kingdom organized by the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA).

The activities of the mission were launched on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in London, Manchester and Liverpool, and will take place until November 30 to promote economic relations between the two countries and promote investment opportunities in Egypt.

Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Ma'it, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed, and some 50 Egyptian companies are set to be participating in the mission's activities, with the aim of supporting economic relations between Cairo and London.
