CAIRO – 25 November 2018: The Sea Rescue and Protection of the Environment Association announced Nov. 24 that a member of the association spotted a peaceful whale sharkon the beaches of Southern Hurghada.

"The whale shark is peaceful and is considered a friend to human beings," said Hassan al-Tayyib, the Sea Rescue Association chairperson.

He added that the re-appearance of the whale shark in Hurghada brought joy and happiness to all tourists in the Red Sea city.

"The whale shark appears in specific waters where it finds sound food," Tayyib revealed in a statement, adding that this is the eighth appearance in the same year.

He noted that the Sea Rescue and Environmental Protection Association monitors the movements of sharks in the Red Sea waters, warning that "we should not get close to them in order not to upset them. They can run away because of the harassment of some divers."
