CAIRO, Nov 24 (MENA) - President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi is set to inaugurate the 22nd round of Cairo International Exhibition and Conference on Telecommunication and Information Technology (ICT 2018) on Sunday.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Planning Minister Hala el Saeed are set to attend the exhibition which will be held at Egypt International Exhibitions Center under the slogan: Driving Transformation. It will run until November 28.

In a statement on Saturday, the planning minister said that she will be in charge of the governmental pavilion at the exhibition, in which a number of ministers and representatives of public and private institutions participate.

This year’s edition is focusing on the issue of digital transformation, in light of the government’s plans for mechanizing all services extended to the public, Saeed added.

She stressed that the government is also keen to upgrade all State sectors using modern technology, she noted.

A number of sub-exhibitions will be held on the sidelines of the ICT 2018; namely the Learning Technology Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa, the Defense, Security and Public Safety Technology Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa, the Smart Transportation Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa, the Payment, FinTech & Digital Inclusion Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa and the Intelligent and Connected Cities Fair & Forum for the Middle East and Africa.

More than 500 international and local companies along with start-ups are participating in the ICT 2018.
