CAIRO - 13 November 2018: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected on Tuesday, Nov. 13 "Rawdat El-Sayeda" project (formerly Tal El-Akareb) in Cairo's El-Sayeda Zeinab district. Madbouli added that the project will be inaugurated in December.

The project comes as part of the government's efforts to develop "unsafe" slum areas. The project aims at providing housing units for slum dwellers.

Madbouli was accompanied by the Cairo governor, the deputy housing minister for urban planning, the chairpersons of the New Urban Communities Authority and the Informal Settlements Development Fund (ISDF) as well as the board chairman of Wadi El-Nile Company.

In Cairo governorate, nearly 65,000 housing units were built for residents of unsafe shanty towns.

As part of "Rawdat El-Sayeda" project, 16 housing blocks, including 815 residential units and 344 commercial units, were built.
