CAIRO – 29 October 2018: The soil boring of Africa’s tallest skyscraper at the New Administrative Capital started, according to Chairman of the New Administrative Capital Company Ahmed Zaki Abdeen.

The 345-meter tower will come out from a thin triangular base to form a rectangular 250- story skyscraper. The tower will overlook the Nile and the pyramids.

Abdeen remarked that the skyscraper will be constructed at the new capital's Business District, which includes 12 towers, a mall, and five residential and hotel buildings, referring that the road works at the district are carried out consistently.

He added that the tower will consist of hotel services, residential apartments, international marketing centers, entertainment and educational facilities, in addition to medical centers, pointing out that it will be an important venue attracting tourists.

In the same context, some sources at the Urban Communities Authority remarked that the skyscraper’s construction is expected to be finished in 43 months.

On March 28, former Prime Minster Sherif Ismail laid the foundation stone of the Business District in the New Administrative Capital.

Ismail said that this project includes the construction of 20 towers, stressing that the project is a great civilization shift that will provide thousands of job opportunities.

The total investment of this project amounts to around $3 billion, financed by Chinese loans. The New Urban Communities Authority will repay 15 percent of the amount as a deposit, while the remaining percentage will be repaid over 10 years after the project’s construction, according to Mostafa Madbouli.

Madbouli added that the project spans over a total area of 1.71 million square meters, located on an area of 195 feddans.
