CAIRO – 28 October 2018: President Abdel Fatal al-Sisi will hold several meetings with German president, leaders, and German companies during his four-day visit to Berlin to participate in the G20 Compact with Africa summit.

Egypt's Ambassador in Berlin Badr Abdel Aati revealed President Sisi’s agenda during his four-day visit to Berlin, Germany, to participate in the G20 Compact with Africa summit.

In his statement to the media delegation accompanying the president in Berlin, Abdel Aati referred that Sisi will meet on Monday, Oct. 29 with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the president of German Bundestag.

Sisi’s schedule will include bilateral meetings with ministers of interior, foreign affairs, development and cooperation as well as economy and energy.

He added that a round table will be convened between the president and several German companies, some of which have investments in Egypt and others seek to enter the Egyptian market.

The round table will be attended by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Peter Altmaier; Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Gerd Müller; and the head of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

In this regard, Abdel Aati pointed out that the meeting aims to exchange visions between Sisi and the heads of German companies in light of Egypt’s keenness to establish strong investment partnerships with these companies to transfer the German modern technology to Egypt and create job opportunities in Egypt.

He further remarked that Sisi will participate in the G20 Compact with Africa summit upon an invitation from German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Egypt's participation comes within the framework of Egypt's efforts to activate the cooperation with African countries and G20 countries in different developmental fields, especially that Egypt assumed the presidency of the African Union in 2019.

The ambassador explained that Sisi will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 30 with German Chancellor Merkel at the headquarters of German Chancellery to discuss the cooperation between the two countries in different fields.

He added that they will hold a press conference to review the outcomes of their talks to the Egyptian and German media.

Abdel Aati remarked that this visit focuses on investment, commerce and tourism.
Egypt's ambassador in Berlin said that several agreements will be signed on the sidelines of the meetings that will be held between Sisi and the ministers, including an agreement to establish a German University for Applied Science in the New Administrative Capital.

Meanwhile, a cooperation agreement will be signed for the first time on university education and technical education.

In the same context, Abdel Aati said that Germany is interested in participating in the World Youth Forum, set to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh in November.
