CAIRO - 27 May 2017: Terrosists targeted in Derna suffered severe losses on both ammunition and casualties, Libyan Air Forces announced Friday in press statements.

The statement affirmed that Egyptian airstrikes on Derna were coordinated with air force commander, Gen. Saqr Geroushi, and this operation represents the first of many to pave the way for Libyan ground forces to enter Derna and liberate it from terrorists.

Egypt's air forces carried out six intensive airstrikes on Derna, eastern Libya, targeting groups affiliated with the main center of the Shura Council for Mujahedin of Derna, believed to be responsible for the Minya attack.

“The Egyptian side used modern Rafale air fighters in the joint operation, which targeted spots of terrorists’ ammunition,” the statement reads, it revealed that targeted sites were located pre-launch, and others were located during the operation itself.

Minya governorate in Upper Egypt witnessed a tragic terrorist attack which targeted a bus carrying Coptic Christians, and which killed 28 persons and injured 25 others.
