CAIRO – 26 May 2017: Egypt’s State Information Service (SIS) urged the international media to stick to credibility and accuracy in reporting on the terrorist attack that targeted a Copts bus Friday in Minya.

The SIS statement on Friday called on foreign media outlets to obtain all the facts and information from official sources and avoid inaccurate information published by non-official sources.

The statement added that international media has to abide by the Egyptian law that regulates the work of foreign journalists operating in Egypt when publishing any information related to ongoing investigations.

The SIS said also it is ready to provide foreign media with all the information they need about the attacks.

Armed men intercepted a bus carrying more than 40 Coptic Christians in a religious trip to St. Samuel Monastery in the Minya governorate, and opened fire on them.

According to the latest updates by the Ministry of Health, the attack left 26 dead and 25 injured.
