Ongoing coordination between Egypt, Italy to solve Libyan crisis: Italian deputy PM

CAIRO - 30 August 2018: Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Development Minister Luigi De Mayo asserted that Italy and Egypt aim at achieving national reconciliation and political stability in Libya.

This came during De Mayo's meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.

There is full coordination and cooperation between Egypt and Libya to resolve the Libyan crisis, De Mayo added.

Italy had organized an international conference for peace in Libya to help solving the crisis there, De Mayo said.

During the meeting, Madbouli asserted Egypt's keenness on continuing the implementation of the roadmap to achieve political stability and security in Libya, Spokesman of the cabinet Ashraf Sultan said.

The meeting also took up a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
