Khaled Ali refered to trial over ‘shameless, disgraceful act’

CAIRO – 24 May 2017: Dokki prosecution referred wesdenday lawyer khaled Ali to trail on May 29 at the Dokki Misdemeanor Court over charges of committing a “shameless and disgraceful act.”

On Tuesday, lawyer Khaled Ali was detained for 24 hours over the same charges following a complaint filed by lawyer Samir Sabry.

Ali, ex-2012 presidential candidate, reportedly made an offensive finger gesture last January outside the State Council courthouse, celebrating the ruling to reject the transfer of the Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia.
