CAIRO – 24 August 2018: Official sources said Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli completed intensive meetings on Friday for a governors' reshuffle that will reportedly replace 13 to 16 governors and their deputies out of total 27, while the swearing-in ceremony will be held next week.

The sources added that two women and a number of young people will be represented in the reshuffle for the first time, with many Upper Egypt and Giza governors expected to be replaced.

Madbouli has received evaluation reports of the current governors’ performances, prepared by the Ministry of Local Development, in a regular step preceding the governors’ reshuffle.

The sources excluded any changes in North Sinai, South Sinai, and Red Sea governors thanks to these governors' experience in maintaining stability of the areas under their governance.

Prime Minister Madbouli is expected to head the first meeting of the new governor formation.
