CAIRO - 23 May 2017: The suicide bomber who carried out Monday's deadly attack at the Manchester Arena has been identified as 22 year-old Salman Abedi, Reuters reported three U.S. officials.

The attack left 22 people dead, including an eight-year-old girl, and injured dozens at the Ariana Grande pop concert in Manchester.

The Islamic State (IS) terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack and said it was carried out with an explosive device planted at the concert, according to Reuters.

"One of the soldiers of the Caliphate was able to place an explosive device within a gathering of the Crusaders in the city of Manchester," the statement said.
