CAIRO – 23 May 2017: Egypt condemned Tuesday the terror attack on a pop concert in Manchester that left at least 22 dead and 59 injured, sending its condolences to the victims’ families, according to statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The attack, coming a few days after the counterterrorism summit in the Riyadh, confirms the necessity for the international community to quickly pursue effective and tight measures to uproot terrorism, the statement read.

The statement concluded by expressing Egypt’s solidarity, government and people, with the British people in “countering terrorism and all attempts to intimidate the secure citizens.”

A suicide bomber reportedly attacked a concert by U.S. singer Ariana Grande in the English city of Manchester on Monday evening. Police stated that the attacker died after detonating explosives at the concert, killing dozens, including children.
