Bishop Epiphanius’s death under investigation due to mystery

CAIRO -30 July 2018: The Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria announced Sunday the death of the head of Monastery of St. Macarius in Wadi El Natrun, Bishop Epiphanius.

The church’s statement mentioned that the bishop’s death is being investigated by the security authorities as mystery shrouds the incident. The statement pointed out that the Bishop’s funerals to be held after the investigation is closed.

Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria expressed his condolences in an official statement describing the late Bishop as filled with modesty and gentleness.
