Detained Youth Committee prepares 3rd pardon list: MP

CAIRO – 21 May 2017: The Parliament’s Detained Youth Committee is to prepare a third presidential pardon list as soon as possible, to release youth detained in cases of opinion or demonstration, said parlimentarian Tarek el-Khouly, secretary of Foreign Affairs Committee and member of Detained Youth Committee in a Sunday statement.

The Presidency issued the second presidential pardon list last March, including 203 people, and the committee will be soon working on the third one.

In November 2016, a group of 82 detainees were pardoned in the first round.
On April 25, the Ministry of Interior released 1,051 prisoners and conditionally released 67 others on a presidential pardon, on the occasion of celebrating Sinai Liberation Day.
