CAIRO – 20 May 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived Saturday in Riyadh for a two-day visit, where he participates in the Arab-Islamic-American summit.

Sisi is set to give a speech during the summit, which kicks off Sunday, where he presents Egypt’s vision in drafting a comprehensive strategy in confronting terrorism through concerted international efforts, according to a presidency press statement.

He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

During a Wednesday press meeting, Sisi assured that bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia is in full swing, planning to invest in the summit’s meetings for the sake of stability in the region. Egypt is joining the summit “with great hopes,” he added.

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Riyadh Saturday, where he was received by Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz ahead of the summit. He previously said he would use his trip to urge leaders of Muslim countries to fight extremism.
