Mar Girgis’ Church in Tanta and St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria were attacked during Palm Sunday services on April 9, leaving at least 45 dead and around 125 injured.

Families of the martyrs of the Alexandria Cathedral have also headed to the monastery of Saint Mina to place flowers around a mass grave that received seven of the victims, on the 40 day anniversary of the tragic Palm Sunday attacks.
