FILE: The explosion omitted away from the Cairo International Airport
CAIRO – 12 July 2018: An explosion has reportedly took place at a petrochemicals plant near the Cairo International Airport on Thursday evening.
Early reports and eyewitnesses claim two fuel tanks, owned by a petrochemicals company, exploded. The explosion took place away from the airport and was completely contained.
According to reliable sources, flights at the airport were not affected by the explosion.
The explosion resulted 12 victims who were immediately transferred by the dispatched ambulances to the nearest hospital.
