CAIRO – 18 May 2017: Armed Forces Staff Chief Lt. General Mahmoud Hegazy arrived in Libya Thursday to take part in the 3rd anniversary of “Operation Dignity” which marks the beginning of the military’s nationwide crackdown on terrorists three years ago.

Hegazy was given a formal reception at the Libyan national army headquarter, where the celebration took place, and then headed for a general meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces Khalifa Haftar.

During the meeting, both parties discussed developments on both domestic and international levels amid the challenges facing Libya and the region.

They also stressed on the need to coordinate efforts to boost border security in the face of illegal infiltrators.

Hegazy’s visit to Libya came a week after President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi had received Haftar on Saturday, May 13, at the Presidential Palace.
