CAIRO - 18 May 2017: The German Foreign Ministry hosted the first bilateral meeting between Egypt and Germany to discuss the joint efforts to counter terrorism on Monday, according to an official statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

The two-day meeting tackled the Egyptian-German cooperation in counterterrorism in international events, regarding the dangers of terrorism, not only in both countries, but in Europe and the Middle East.

“The bilateral relations between Egypt and Germany witness a leap in various fields, which was crowned by the visit of Chancellor Angela Merkel to Cairo last March,” the statement reads.

The meeting was attended by representatives from German and Egyptian Ministries as well as concerned state entities to counter terrorism.
