BERLIN - 29 June 2018: Egyptian Ambassador in Berlin Badr Abdel Aati revealed that several visits by German lawmakers to Egypt are being prepared for with the aim of boosting bilateral ties and encouraging German investments.

The visits are to be held within the second half of the year, Abdel Aati told MENA.

Meanwhile, the ambassador underscored the importance of Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal’s current visit to Berlin, the first one since Egypt’s House of Representatives held its first session in January 2016.

Abdel Aal’s visit came at the invitation of Bundestag Speaker Wolfgang Schäuble, he said.

The Egyptian parliament speaker held key meetings with German MPs from various political parties in order to review the achievements made during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s first term and what is targeted for the current four-year term, he added.

During the meetings, he stressed that Egypt is open to all its citizens, except for those who resort to violence, killing and terrorism, the ambassador noted.

Abdel Aal also gave an interview to the editor-in-chief of Germany’s newspaper Die Welt. He talked about what Cairo has achieved in the fields of security, stability and economic development after applying the country's economic reform program.
